PIERCING AFTERCARE

Good piercing aftercare is vital to the longevity and healing of your new piercing! How your Piercing looks three months or three years from now depends upon how you treat it right away. Follow these steps to promote a healthy piercing.

Piercing Aftercare

Clean piercing 1-2 times daily.

Always wash your hands before touching the piercing or jewelry.

Apply 2 drops of antibacterial soap on fingertips or q-tip, rub on jewelry, and clean and remove any hardened lymph fluid from on or around the piercing or jewelry.

Rinse completely with clean water to remove all soap.

Check daily to make sure balls are tight on threaded jewelry.

A white, yellow discharge is normal and you will probably see it during the entire healing process.

If an infection occurs contact a physician.

Excessively moving or playing with a new piercing can irritate the piercing, leave it alone.

Piercing Aftercare for Oral Piercings

Follow regular aftercare instructions for any part of the piercing on the outside of the mouth.

On the inside of your mouth, rinse with an alcohol-free antiseptic mouthwash approximately 3-5 times daily.

Always rinse with mouth wash after food or drinks.

Your piercing will swell for about 2-7 days.

You can reduce swelling by taking an anti-inflamatory medicine and consuming cold food and drinks.

Avoid anything spicy, hot drinks and food, and alcohol for the first week.

A white, yellow discharge is normal and you will probably see it during the entire healing process.

If an infection occurs contact a physician.

Do not apply peroxide or alcohol on your piercing.

Excessively moving or playing with a new piercing can irritate the piercing, leave it alone.
